Navita is a PhD scholar under Prof. Ashok Kumar, Head of the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Imaging, and Forensics. Her research focuses on audio analysis using AI and machine learning, specifically in pitch detection and melody contour extraction from audio in the presence of drone and rhythm. Her work involves extracting the melody from instrumental Indian classical music accompanied by two to three instruments, developing a custom algorithm using a grid-scale approach for melody extraction, and identifying a series of frequencies corresponding to the pitch of the lead melody in an audio sample. Her master's project focused on otoacoustic emissions, encompassing a review of otoacoustic emissions, the development of an otoacoustic dataset, and its analysis.
